The songs range from tender solo laments to robust drinking songs, from long ballads in unison to short arrangements in full harmony, from ancient lays handed down over the years, to modern commentaries on daily life. English Miscellany performs a range of traditional and modern songs, either unaccompanied or with simple instrumental backing.
